Apple Pie Crumble




For the Crust:
  • 2 & 1/2 cups of flower
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 cup of room temperature butter
  • 1/4 of a cup of chilled water
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
For the filling:
  • 5 apples
  • 1/3 of a cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of freshly ground nutmeg
  • Muesli (enough to cover the top of your pie) 

  1. Roll our your pie crust once it's chilled and put it in a greased pie dish
  2. Peel and core the apples, cut them into cubes and put them in a bowl
  3. Add the lemon juice, maple syrup, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg - mix together
  4. Pour the contents of the bowl into your baking pan
  5. Top your pie with muesli, brown sugar and butter (obviously, a really good recipe for weight loss)
  6. Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes at 170 degrees
Served best with vanilla ice cream :)
